Polk DUI Saturation Patrols

Polk County DUI Unit will be out in force for the holidays. According to a press release, "Polk County Sheriff's Traffic deputies will be conducting DUI saturation patrols countywide in order to detect, stop, and arrest impaired drivers, as part of the national "Drunk Driving. Over the Limit. Under Arrest." campaign. Members of the DUI Enforcement Unit will also be patrolling the roadways of Polk County in order to safeguard motorists from those who are driving impaired."

The Judge ordered that any multiple DUI offender may have the option of DUI Court as part of a plea offer. If the offer and the case is accepted into the division, the Polk County DUI defendant's case may be transferred to the Judge presiding over DUI or Drug Court . The DUI/Drug Court shall be a condition of the offender's probation. Also involved in the DUI Court are: Judges, Assistant State Attorneys, Defense Attorneys, County Probation, Polk County Sheriff's Office, Lakeland Police Department Offices, AA representatives and MADD representatives.
